KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will setup a central executive council, Express 24/7 reported on Sunday.

The announcement was made by MQM leader Farooq Sattar during a press conference in Karachi.

Sattar said that the MQM has invited people from various religious and ethnic backgrounds to join the party, so that all walks of life are represented in the council.

He said that the council would aid MQM’s Raabta Committee in organising, policy making, administration as well as in preparing the party’s manifesto.

The MQM leader told the media that the council would meet at least once every three months and exchange views on important issues.

He said the council will also play its role in creating awareness against feudal system and corrupt political setup.
