Dog, nappy and football found in Australian crocodile

SYDNEY: Rangers who shot a saltwater crocodile that was terrorising pets in northern Australia found a dog, a pair of shorts, a football and a nappy in its stomach, according to a local report.
Police had recently notified authorities that a crocodile had eaten at least one dog and was lunging at others on a beach near the community of Galiwinku.
The Northern Territory News said rangers who went to the area on Tuesday saw the 3.5 metre (11 feet 6 inches) crocodile grab a dog by the leg, so they shot the reptile.

WASHINGTON: Syrian rebels battling President Bashar al-Assad’s government are beginning to get more and better weapons in an effort paid for by Persian Gulf nations and coordinated partly by the United States, the Washington Post reported late on Tuesday.

Iran says Saudi-Bahrain union plan deepens crisis

TEHRAN: Iran warned on Tuesday that Riyadh’s plans to form a union with Manama would deepen the crisis in Bahrain, a day after Saudi Arabia told Tehran to keep out of its relations with the tiny Gulf kingdom.
“Any kind of foreign intervention or non-normative plans without respecting people’s vote will only deepen the already existing wounds,” foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said in a statement carried by Iranian media.

Six rockets fired in Peshawar’s Hayatabad, 3 hurt

PESHAWAR: Three people were wounded on Tuesday when six rockets were thrown at Hayatabad in Peshawar.
According to police, unknown miscreants fired six rockets in Hayatabad Phase VI, injuring three persons, including one woman.

Containers start reaching Karachi for expected NATO supply resumption

KARACHI: A large number of containers have started to move towards Karachi from Peshawar for expected resumption of NATO supply any time soon, CNBC reported on Tuesday.
The Chairman of All Pakistan Tankers Association, Yousaf Shehwani, has said this day that the Interior Ministry has instructed them to complete all arrangements for NATO supply.

Dr. Khalil Chishti returns home after 20 years

ISLAMAABD: Pakistan’s microbiologist scientist Dr. Khalil Chishti returned home from India on Tuesday.
He was greeted by Interior Minister Rehman Malik at the Islamabad airport.
Speaking to newsmen at the airport, Malik credited President Zardari for Dr. Chishti’s release.
